Dear Cornerstone Bank Customer,

Thank you for banking with us. I'm George Matteo, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Bank. I want to share with you my philosophy behind running the region's most successful community bank.

My first introduction to banking began when I was eleven.   My dad took me to our neighborhood bank where I opened my first account. I remember that day like it was yesterday.   My father explained to me what a bank account was and that I would be making money on the money I put in the bank. I remember how impressed I was to meet the bank manager and the people who worked there. At that time, the bank was a very important part of the community.

It was from those impressions of what a bank was and what it meant to the community – what it stood for - that we built Cornerstone Bank.   To me, banking is more than a commodity.   It is about relationships with our customers and being part of the fabric of our community. Banking today, whether in our branches or through our on-line banking service, is personal and should remain that way.

It is this spirit of personalized, customized banking I want you to find in every transaction you conduct with this bank - whether in a branch or by asking for on-line assistance.

I realize and appreciate the responsibility you have placed in us as your community bank.   You expect us to have the best products at the most competitive rates.   You also expect to be treated with respect and be greeted with the same level of interest and enthusiasm I experienced many years ago.

Rest assured, the concept of convenience "only" banking has not replaced the true meaning of "community" banking. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to earn your business and I am confident we will do our level best to keep you a satisfied customer.
